I am a Visiting Assistant Professor of Operations Management at the Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University. I received my PhD in Information Systems and Operations Management from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School in 2025, where I was advised by Nikolay Osadchiy. My dissertation, Efficiency, Resiliency, and Value Addition in Supply Networks, was a finalist for the 2026 Industry Studies Association Dissertation Award.
My research looks at supply chains as networks rather than as a firm and its direct partners. I study how a firm’s position in the extended supply network, often several tiers away from final demand, shapes its operational efficiency, the share of value it captures, and how risk and reward reach it through suppliers and customers it shares with others. My paper with Nikolay Osadchiy on inventory productivity and stock returns in manufacturing networks received the 2025 MSOM iFORM SIG Best Paper Award. I am passionate about applying these network methods to other areas such as sustainability, technology adoption, retail, and healthcare. In healthcare, I study how hospital prices are negotiated and what price transparency rules change for payers, providers, and patients.
I am happy to talk more about my work in progress, or about how we might collaborate, in person or virtually.

Abstract
Two manufacturers of similar size in the same industry can carry very different levels of inventory, and the market rewards their efficiency very differently. Using manufacturing networks from 2003 to 2019, we find that inventory productivity falls as we move upstream and improves with a firm’s connectedness and centrality. The stock market rewards better inventory productivity, but most strongly for upstream, less connected, and peripheral firms. Inventory should therefore be benchmarked against firms in a similar network position, not only against industry peers.

Abstract
The evidence for the value chain smile is mixed, partly because earlier tests place every firm on a single chain, when most firms sit in many chains at once. We build a local value chain around each firm, comparing its margin with those of its direct and indirect suppliers and customers. Firms with higher R&D and SG&A intensity are more likely to sit at the top of their local value chain, where the curve takes an inverted-U shape, and transitions into that shape follow persistently high R&D and rising SG&A intensity rather than changes in upstreamness.
